Minor Volcano unrest has been detected in our Lake Taupō. GNS Science said there has been an increase in earthquakes and ground movement since May, indicating volcanic unrest is occurring. It has described the unrest as minor.
This comes days after a major shake up last Saturday that woke many of us up.
It is the first time the level has been lifted to 1. "There have been 17 previous episodes of unrest over the past 150 years." GNS Science said, "This is not the worst of them."
The last eruption occurred around 232 AD. About 1800 years ago.
At the time now, there is no huge concern about it.
